Supportive In-Home Services


Supportive in-home services provides person-centered services to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Individuals are provided necessary supports to live in their own home or with their family, in the least restrictive setting. Individuals are supported in maintaining independence and making choices that foster individualized quality of life. Individuals receive services based upon a person-centered approach. Services are directed to improve: self-sufficiency, socialization, adaptive skills, nutritional needs, health and safety, financial management, community integration/awareness and housing-related management skills.


Criteria includes:


  • Services are provided to children, adolescents and adults who are receiving Medicaid benefits and qualify for the ID/DD waiver.
  • Individuals must present the need for in-home residential support and meet eligibility based on ID/DD waiver criterion.
  • Individuals should be receiving ID/DD support coordination from their community services board.
  • Waiver types accepted are FIS and CL for this service type.

Companion Services


Companion services provides non-medical care, socialization, or general support. This is a non-skilled service that supports individuals with IADLs, including meal preparation, community access and activities, and shopping. Individuals can also receive support with light housekeeping tasks, including bed-making, laundry, dusting, and vacuuming, when such services are specified in the individual's plan for supports and are essential to the individual's health and welfare in order to maintain the individual's home environment in an orderly and clean manner. This service will also focus on safety supports in the home and community settings.


Criteria includes:


  • Services are provided to adults 18 years of age or older.
  • Individuals may qualify through  DSS, CCC+ Waiver, FIS waiver, CL waiver and a variety of other sources.
